Music Video Theory
Today we learnt about Andrew Goodwin's music video theory.
We were told to look at the relationship between the lyrics and the visuals,
(Whether the visuals illustrate, amplify or contradict music)
We were also told to look at the relationship between the music and the visuals.
Is it a particular music genre with their own music video style/iconography?
Another important thing to look at was close up shots of the main artist/vocalist.
Steve Archer said consider these main elements:
-Lyrics -Camera
-Music -Editing
-Genre -Intertexuality
-Performance -Narrative
