First Draft Feedback

Positives
  • Editing was good. The live performance lighting effects was good.
  • Excellent editing and use of mise-en-scene
  • Outstanding
  • One of the best, amazing editing.
  • Editing was amazing, so was the lighting.
  • Really strong editing.
  • I love the video, best one I've seen. The shots match the beat of the music, amazing editing.
  • Pacing of the shots ties in well with the visuals. Editing is the best of the year.
  • Amazing editing and shot selection, lip syncing is solid and great performance shots. Hard to find any complaints.

Negatives
  • Repeated shots, could improve party shots.
  • Maybe add an epilepsy warning.
  • Cross media consistency isn't entirely synchronized.
  • Grace is portrayed on her website and digipack as a girly girl and associated with pink and glitter which isn't portrayed in the video. Some shots are repeated, unsure if this was intended.
  • Some of the same shots used twice, lose focus on the drugs and alcohol.
  • A few repeated shots.
  • Too much of a skins influence, not a big problem though.
  • Just a question, why the drugs?
  • Skins scene doesn't match the stars image. Too Ellie Goulding. Flashing is not good, couldn't watch more than 30 seconds due to seizures. Trying too hard to be grunge.
  • What's the message? Got drugs and alcohol written all over it.
  • Want to see less of the drugs/woods scenes more.
  • Some of the shots could be better quality (outside). Maybe less drugs and get rid of repeated shots.
  • Repeated shots.
  • Didn't understand what was happening outside of the performance.

Grace Starr: First Draft Questionnaire

After completing our first draft, we have put together a bunch of things so we get as much feedback as possible from people who watch our video. To do this we are going to do a written feedback sheet from the whole of the year to feedback on what they like and what they didn't like and what mark they would give us, then this gives us an idea on what we can improve so that our audience is happy and understands the video as a whole and enjoys watching it. We are also going to do a recording feedback video so that we can record people after they have watched our video and they can then feedback and note what first comes to mind when the questions are asked.

Some of the questions we are going to include in our recorded questionnaire are:

What is your age:
What do you think the genre of music is?
What do you like about the video?
What do you think could be improved about the video?
Do you think it’s similar to a real video? Why/why not?
Would you buy the album? Why/why not?
Which TV Channels would you expect to see the video on?
Do you think this video is suitable for the artist as a debut release? Why/why not?

Final Digipack Feedback

We sent out a survey monkey so we could get people to respond to our final draft of our digipack: This is the feedback we received.

How we responded to criticism:
Someone stated on our feedback that they would not buy the album, but not because of the way it looks, but because of their personal preference. However, if the genre of music is not to their taste, there is not much that we can do as a group to change that opinion.
Someone also said that our digi pack does not look professional, however we did not make any changes because as a group we all think we put as much effort and skill into this as we could, and we think it does not professional for someone that is the genre and personality of our star

Website Feedback

We was all given a task to feedback on each others websites so that we could see what went well and if there is anything we can improve to make it better. This then gives each group a chance to go back to their website and make it the best it can be. Here is the feedback we was given from the other groups:

What went well:
The website created by the Grace Starr group looks professional, sleek and contemporary. There are easy-to use links to Media, Press, bio (About Grace), and Merchandise; the site showcases tour promotion, photo-shoot, and teaser material for the upcoming album and music video. The layout is very professional, as is the photography, which accommodate conventions of Pop.

I love the overall girly look of the website and the layout is really cool. I strongly believe that the website fits the artist's image and genre.

The pictures are well placed and with the same style the throughout the website it gives off a professional feel.

The background image, in fact all of them, are strong and clear ones which again shows the professionalism of the site. The transitions of the site are consistent and work well. The wide variety merchandise and quality of it is fantastic, as well as the sign up for newsletters, it shows that real thought has gone into the designing of the site.

In conclusion the site itself is fantastic, the quality of images, merchandise and titles are fantastic, the hard work gone into it, is defiantly noticeable.

Very professional, bubbly, pretty. Photos and background look really professional, looks convincingly like a singer's website, like the colour scheme and text. Easy to navigate around the website and very informative. I like it.

I liked how filled and lively the home page was with tour dates, album info, breaking news and teasers cover it which allows any fans to instantly get what they want from the website.

Grace Starr's Website is one of the best websites from the class. There is a good use of colours and i like the way the home page is not too crowded with lots of information. There is a consistent house style with the use of fonts and colours. I really like how they have added some news articles and a teaser trailer. Navigation is easy to use and clearly labelled.

I feel that after reviewing this website there is very little weaknesses that I can pull out. I feel that they have gone above and beyond, and put in huge amounts of time to it. They have a great gallery with all the latest pictures uploaded, along with fine attention to detail. An example of this is taking pictures of Grace Starr (Charlotte) in the gym and saying how 'Grace Starr' has been seen in the gym, going down as section in their Press column. All this and more like teaser music videos makes the website great. Also the layout they used, has matched their artist.

This website is very professional and the creator has clearly understood the task at hand. It is very believable and the group have clearly taken inspiration from similar artist’s websites. The website is full of content and is very well presented. All aspects of the website work including links and music buttons. There is plenty of back story for the star and it will keep the fans informed and also make the star more relatable.

The Grace Starr website looks very professional, we are shown different things the artist is doing such as tour dates, red carpet appearances and interviews. People interested in the artist want to know and read these sort of things so it is important to include the on the website for easy access for the audience. We are also able to purchase thing from the website both merchandise and album download.

Nice Colour schemes, Look really professional, good consistency across the house styles on all pages of the website doesn't need a lot of work just a bit of polishing here and there.

Even Better If:

The menu could be made a little bit bigger, On the 'About Grace' page the pictures would look better re arranged so that the page finishes where the bottom of the text is. Across all the pages the 'X' next to the official site title either needs to be made more obvious (made Bigger) or removed. also the Twitter button on the home page needs re-sizing, looks  a bit lost at the moment.

The Merchandise is not very appealing and i would not be encouracged to buy anything from it.

To make the site better I think that they could have links to social media sites on the home screen with icons.

Overall it is a very well done website it could use a few more photos of the star but that's about all.

If you did a gallery of photos in different areas/scenes, etc. The big white space to the left of everything else on the website gets a bit annoying.

Information on the 'press' page is all down one side, making the page rather long, possibly put some of the articles on the opposite side, unless they are down one side for the purpose of the image being visible. There could be less images on the 'about Grace' as they are already on the 'media' page. The Iphone on the merchandise page could you possibly remove the small lines around the iPhone?

Spelling errors should be checked on the 'About Grace' page. Other than that, the website is flawless.
