DigiPak Inspiration

Ellie goulding is the artist that our song we are using for our music video is by. Her album is called lights so the general theme around the digipak is darkness and bright lights. The actual CD design is very simple just a plain CD with her name and the name on the album on it. It also includes a two page spread of Ellie so people can put a face to the music that they are listening too. The front cover is also of her. The Digipak includes a lyrics sheet which is a fun extra.

Eliza Doolittle is in a similar genre to our artist and the look that we are going for. She is from the electronic pop genre the same as our song and artist. The front cover of her album is very busy with lots going on that draws peoples attention to it. If you saw this on a shelf you are more likely to pick it up as it looks interesting. The album is bright and gets across Eliza Doolittle's personality.

The inside cover of the album includes a close up shot of Eliza Doolittle this helps to introduce her to the audience, the use of a close up allows the audience to see the expression on her face, this helps to build an audience- artist relationship. The picture is fun and colourful helping to introduce her personality to the audience. Next to it is the CD itself, the CD is plain apart from 'Eliza Doolittle' in large letters in bright pink spread across it. The bright pink is striking and the constant repeat of Eliza's name gets the brand across as this is her debut album like our artist

Like the Ellie Goulding album, Eliza's album includes a pull out lyric sheet. Our artist is aiming towards the same fanbase as Eliza's which is a young female audience. The lyric sheet is fun especially for a younger audience and may encourage them to buy the album. The fun font also adds a younger them throughout the album.

Finally the back cover of the album. The song titles are written is the same fun fonts that are featured throughout the digipak keeping the young fun vibe throughout. The back cover features yet another picture of Eliza which really amps up her artist identity as we are constantly being reminded that she is the artist and because the digipak is so fun we associate this with her and it instantly gives her a likeability factor which is good as this is her debut album.
